Denver Bat Removal Tip:

5 Things to Expect Once the Bats Invaded Your House

Encountering bats in our home will usually happen during an inappropriate time. You are probably watching the news when suddenly the bat will appear in your living room. It won't take long enough for your dogs and cats to chase the intruder and will cause a chaos inside the house. While it may be unusual for the bats to end in our house, we should still be prepared for this possible outcome.

What to Do in Case the Bat Invaded Your House

Bats will sometimes end in our house during the summer months. This will typically be a young bat who happened to lose its way. It may be a bat that is trying to explore a new area. On the off chance that a contact with bats occurred in the kitchen, bedroom, or any part of the house, here's what you should do.

1. Know the Reason

First, you need to know the reason why there is a bat inside your house. Originally, bats will prefer to live in the forested areas, and caves. However, due to urbanization, they have been forced out of their house. The bats that accidentally ended up in your house may have been driven out of their natural habitat. It is also possible that their roosting site has been disturb by the predators. If this is a young bat, there is perhaps a colony of bats in your attic. They will roost on the higher area of our ceiling to receive the optimal temperature.

2. How Did It Get Inside

Knowing how the bat get inside you house can help you prevent similar situation in the future. The bats will usually invade our house using a gap that is around a quarter to half an inch in terms of diameter. They can enter through your ceiling, warped siding, cracks in the walls, attic vents, and window sill. Check these areas for any sign of bat activity.

3. Open the Door that Lead Outside

If this is a lone bat, simply close the door that leads to the other room and open the door that will lead them back outside. Avoid using broomstick since this can agitate them and may cause more damage. Do not turn off the lights since you can accidentally trip during the removal process.

4. Exclusion

If you realized that this is a part of a serious infestation that is happening in your house, the best method would be the use of exclusion device. Start by sealing all the holes in your attic and install the exclusion device on the final hole. Do not immediately remove the exclusion funnel. Make sure that there are no active signs of infestation before you remove it.

5. Acquire a Letter of Exemption

For those who plan to hire the service of the professionals, you may need to prepare a letter of exemption that allows the professionals that are authorized by the state to perform the exclusion. This allows them to exclude the creature during the nesting season.

You should not wait before the bat ended up in the key areas of your home. Pay attention to the small signs of their presence to control the infestation during the early stage.
